Lunch & Refreshments
Join Bernard Magee and the Wetherby & Harrogate Bridge Clubs for a Charity Bridge Day at Hutton Wandesley Stables & Walled Garden. The event will take place in Botanicum, our stunning event barn. You will be treated to a delicious seasonal lunch and a glass of wine with refreshments on arrival.
Widely regarded as one of Britain’s leading bridge instructors, Bernard has introduced thousands of people to the game through his books, television appearances, and teaching events. His engaging and entertaining approach makes bridge accessible, enjoyable and endlessly fascinating, whether you are looking to improve your game or simply spend a day with fellow enthusiasts.
The day will begin with tea and coffee on arrival, followed by an hour-long teaching seminar. Combining expert insight, practical advice and plenty of humour, Bernard’s presentation will offer players the opportunity to sharpen their skills, improve their understanding of the game, and perhaps see familiar situations from a fresh perspective.
Guests will then play a selection of specially prepared set hands, designed to illustrate key bridge concepts and provide an enjoyable challenge around the table. Bernard will share his thoughts on the hands played and offer guidance that players can take away and use in their future games.
After lunch, Bernard will draw the raffle and present the prizes. The afternoon will then continue with a friendly Chicago Bridge session. This sociable format of the game offers the perfect balance of competition and conversation, allowing players to put the morning’s learning into practice while enjoying an afternoon of bridge in good company.
Bernard Magee will be giving his time in aid of his chosen charity, Cancer Research UK and the proceeds from the event will also support Cystic Fibrosis Care. The day will help two vitally important causes while bringing to gather a community of bridge players for a memorable day. The first £1,000 raised through ticket sales will be donated by Bernard to Cancer Research UK.
Whether you come with a regular partner or as an individual player, this promises to be a rewarding day of learning, friendship and fundraising, combining expert tuition, excellent food, and the opportunity to support charities that make a real difference to people’s lives.
£65 per person
Entry to the raffle isn’t included in the ticket price, please support as this helps raise much needed funds for both charities.
Thank you so much for supporting our Bridge Day raising money for Cancer Research and Cystic Fibrosis Care. Because all proceeds will be going directly to the charities, tickets for this event are non-refundable. We truly appreciate your generosity and understanding.
